First Day Reminders

We have provided a great deal of information to parents through our website and we understand just how confusing things can be on the first day of school.  With that in mind, these are your “reminders” for the first day.  This should take a little worry from you as you try to have everything ready!  All other items will wait.

  • Take first day pictures at home before students get on the bus.  Only essential visitors are allowed in the school at this time so there will be no opportunity to take these pictures at school.
  • Masks need to be worn on the bus.  For children in PP-3, masks will continue to be worn until students get to their homeroom class.  For grade 4-8 students, masks will continue to be worn throughout the school day.
  • Please arrive at your bus stop 10 minutes early.  However, buses could also be running behind as new students are loaded on.  Give yourself some leeway on both ends of the expected pick up time.  Remind students they will be given a piece of paper when they leave the bus.  This paper gives the bus number that will be taking them home afterschool.  Students will give this paper to their homeroom teacher.
  • Students being driven to school should be dropped off between 8:00-8:15. Students also need to know what travel arrangements are made for after school as well.
  • Bring a full water bottle.
  • If ordering from the cafeteria, please have the order and exact change in a small sealed bag.
  • No microwaves are available.
  • Students should only bring a few school supplies.  Pencils (and crayons depending on age), some paper or scribbler, one glue stick, one pair of scissors, etc.  It’s not necessary to bring everything that first day!
  • All buses leave at 2:20. Once again, they might run a little later for the first few days.
  • Student/parent information packages will be sent home on the first day. These packages have a LOT of information!! Please read all information and send back items that need to be returned on Wednesday.  It’s very important we have the most up to date contact information along with a number of emergency contacts’ phone numbers.

Have a great long weekend and we look forward to seeing our students on Tuesday!
