2020-2021

We are currently seeking volunteers for Middle School Skills Camp coaches.

Track and Field: Dr. W. A. MacLeod is excited to announce the opportunity for students in grade 4- 6 to participate in a Track and Field Skills Development Camp. The Skills Camp will be facilitated by Pictou County Athletics, led by Ms. Allie Sandluck. Skills Camps focus on personal growth; participants will NOT be competing against other schools. All students are welcome to join, regardless of ability level. Track and Field Skills Camp will take place on Tuesdays from 2:30-3:30 in the gym starting April 27.

Softball: The next Skills Camp that will be offered if Grade 4-6 Female Softball "Girls at Bat" led by Mrs. Marshall. Perission slips are due March 3rd. Softball skills camp will take place after school on Wednesdays in the DWAM gym. We are currently seeking volunteers for Middle School Skills Camp coaches.

 

Basketball: Basketball Skills Camps were held from November-March. The students worked on developing personal skills and learning game strategies. Congratulations to all participants, you have worked hard this year and should be very proud of all that you have accomplished. Thanks to our dedicated coaches Ann Findlay, Bill Findlay, Ray Burns, and Peter Taylor.

 

Golf: Golfers competed in the District Tournament October 2nd at the Glenn Lovett golf course. Congratulations Reese, Vanessa, Autumn, Brynn, Martin, John-Kay, Owen C., and Owen H.

Cross Country Running: Shout out to Sidney Keay in 81 who ran in the Cross Country Regionals at Keppoch Mountain! The competition was tough but Sidney had an excellent run! Way to go!

 

 

2020-2021 Covid-19 Athletics Update:

Dr. W. A. MacLeod is excited to announce the opportunity students to participate in Skills Development Camps this year. Skills development camps will focus on personal growth; participants will NOT be competing in games against other schools. All students are welcome to join, regardless of ability level. 



The purpose of Skills Development Camp is to:

1. Help players develop the skills necessary to be successful 

2. To have fun and develop a love for the game of basketball

3. Learn about the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship.

4. Give positive reinforcement based on effort and development of skills.

5. Provide a safe and healthy environment for all involved
